Powerboat Level ONE

This is for complete novices who have an interest in boating and need basic guidance on boat preparation, launching, handling and boat recovery. This is a one day course and involves both theory and practical exercises and is designed to give you an insight into boat safety. On successful completion of this course you will receive a Powerboat Log Book, and a certificate endorsed by the RYA stating your accomplishment.

Powerboat Level TWO

This is aimed at people who have previous knowledge and experience in boating, and would like to learn more about boat handling, chart work and boat safety in more depth. This course is run over a two day period, and involves both practical and theory exercises. On completion of this course you will receive (Hopefully) a Powerboat Log Book, a certificate endorsed by the RYA and be issued with an ICC certificate. Most insurance companies recognise this training, and subsequently offer a discount on your annual boat insurance premium.

Experienced Helmsman Level TWO £85.00 Per Person

This is a ONE DAY direct assessment for those of you who have had at least two seasons boating experience and wish to have a formal qualification to endorse your skills. This assessment follows the criteria set out in the level TWO syllabus and encompasses both practical and theory sessions. On completion of this course you will receive (Hopefully) a Powerboat Log Book, a certificate endorsed by the RYA and be issued with an ICC certificate.

We may ask you to attend a pre course assessment session prior to the full day to ascertain suitability for this course; this usually lasts about an hour and a half and can be done in the evening.

JETSKI / PWC

This follows the RYA syllabus for competence and involves both practical and theory in craft handling, launching and recovery, rules of the road, etc.

Training and tuition can be given in your own boat, as long as it meets the required specifications, or in one of our instructor’s boats. ALL Courses can be arranged for single candidates, up to a maximum of six candidates per award. The training will be centred around Foreness and the adjoining bays. We aim to make the courses interesting and interactive between the candidates, and safety is paramount to a successful completion of these courses.
